Thank you Barbara Chiodi for the commitment and tenacity and Barbara Cavara of #DIAMOCILAZAMPAPUNTORADIO for the space dedicated in the transmission for deepening the mistreatment of dogs in South Korea and how the Municipality of Bologna could help thanks to an agreement made with the mayor of Seongnam.
The interview is subtitled in Italian and in English.

"Thank you.
Madame chair, president Sofri, mister Major and distinguished guests.
I thank you from my heart for your warm welcome and for the enthusiasm with which you have made me one of you, a citizen of Bologna.
When I was welcomed by the chair she mentioned the fact that I had expressed a great affection for the people of Italy, she described it as platonically in love, I am not quite sure whether it is platonic or not but I am certainly very much in love with Italy as it is today.
A very warm country, warm and very loving people, I thank you for accepting me as one of you.
Professor Sofri talked about the fact that I was not alone, these are the words that his holiness the Dalai Lama said to me not long ago, we are not alone he said, there are people with you, who share with you the same values and the same desire for peace and freedom in this world.

Bologna, the TARSU tax hits a record at +67%. Here is why it's not supposed to.
(Read here the original article in italian by Antonio Amorosi).
Bologna sets a national record, but for taxes on waste collection. They're the highest in Italy. According to CGIA of Mestre, they increased by 67% since year 2000.
We found out why. The local administration achieved it by "forgetting" to apply the law that regulates the disposal of municipal solid waste (Article 61 of the Legislative Decree of 15 November 1993, number 507).
It states that waste charges payed by the citizens of a municipality may not exceed the total cost of collection. Too bad that the Municipality of Bologna from 2006 to 2012 imposed taxes higher than that cost by many millions of Euros.
As in 2012 (official data): waste collection cost to the municipal company (Hera) 67 million 315 thousand euros but taxes resulted higher by 11 million and 323 thousand euros, for a total of 78 million 638 thousand euro. With a burden on individual bills by a third.
In 2011, for example, the collection cost 65,600,000 but 69,500,000 Euros is what citizens payed. Or in 2010, the collection of waste cost 63 million but the municipality applied taxes of 66 (cf. tables at the bottom of the article). Sinces 2006 the citizens of Bologna have payed 22 million 600 thousands euros in excess.

Five Star Movement: how it really started
(clicca qui per l'articolo in italiano)
The Five Star Movement (Movimento 5 Stelle, M5S), and even before the Meetup, have always used the Meetup platform to create groups in the area.
These groups arise from aggregations of people who share the Grillo thought and decide to open a meetup and connect with each other. It can be said that the engine on the territory of M5S are the meetups, where activists do things.
Banquets, collected signatures, submission of electoral lists, events, information evenings, various meetings and more.
The voters of M5S may be different and not necessarily participating actively in the five-starred initiatives: they not necessarily belong to a meetup. They are not necessarily members of the Beppe Grillo portal.
Maybe they read Grillo's blog, without even knowing a single thing g about what is happening before their eyes.
Grillo continuosly talks about the spontaneity of the movement, but let's see if everything is just so spontaneous or if a superior director exists.

Ius soli the italian way
These days the theme of Ius Soli is widely debated. As I have already said more than once I am in favor of a Law that goes in this direction. This is my vote in the City Council to support the campaign "I am Italy too"
I have already posted here some in-depth material and today I post some more, with the hope that people will want to go deep into the topic without stopping to ideological positions on both sides; being in favor or against it makes little difference, what is important is the awareness that drives choice.
Here is what Graziella Bertocchi wrote on Lavoce.info
Ius soli in versione italiana (Ius soli the italian way)
"Ius soli is (again) one of the most discussed topics in political debate. Many law proposals, with similar innovations in them, have already been proposed since the start of the legislature. How do they fit into the european landscape? What are the potential dangers of not shared choices?

Who I am
I was born in Bologna on September 25, 1972.
I got a high school degree at the Liceo Scientifico Statale Copernicus in 1991.
I got married in 1996, in 1999 my first daughter was born, in 2002 I gave birth to my second child and in 2003 the third child joined us.
My first work experience was the campaign of apricots picking in the summer between the third and the fourth year of high school ... the funniest thing was to do the "war" with rotten apricots, the best thing was just the flavor of ripe apricots picked from the tree, still warm from the sun.

Time Magazine: The Joker's Wild
Here you can read an article appeared on the Time Magazine by Stephan Faris on mar 18, 2013 where he discusses the Five Star Movement and the Italian Elections as seen from abroad.
The Joker's Wild
By Stephan Faris / Rome
The comedian Beppe Grillo, the leader of the party that won the most votes in Italy's February election, sits in his beachfront villa in Tuscany as Italian journalists crowd outside, desperate for a sound bite. "They film me while I eat, while I fart," says Grillo, with characteristic vulgarity. "They point their cameras at me 24 hours a day. If I need to pick my nose, I first need to go hide."

Wu Ming: Grillismo: Yet another right-wing cult coming from Italy
[A week ago a prestigious British magazine asked us for a long piece on Grillismo. We wrote it and submitted it, but there was some misunderstanding, and they edited it too heavily for our own taste. We clarified the matter with them, but at that point we were way beyond the deadline and the issue went to print without our contribution. Too bad, but no grudge held. The piece was too long - almost 5,000 words - to submit it to any other mag or newspaper, let them do all the editing all over again and have it published in a reasonable lapse of time. Over here the situation is very bad, and people abroad are completely disinformed about it. Every day we read nonsense and bullshit on Grillo by people who completely ignore the reactionary, authoritarian nature of his movement. A harsh reality is biting our arses and we need to send a message in a bottle right now.

My interview about Beppe Grillo on BBC Profile
At the beginning of March I was interviewed for the BBC program called "Profile" about my experience of being kicked out from the Movimento 5 Stelle by Beppe Grillo for my appearance to the popular talk show on the italian national television "Ballarò".
You can listen to the full podcast by clicking on the link at the bottom of this BBC page.

Journalist: "He's also been attacked for what critics claim is his autocratic style. At the end of last year, Federica Salsi, a counselor for the Five Star Movement in Bologna, was frozen out of the party when she ignored Beppe Grillo's orders for his representatives to stay off TV."
Federica Salsi: "I went to a talk show, it's very popular on italian television. The transmission went well, but the next day Beppe Grillo published a post on his blog entitled 'The talk show kills you'. Grillo used a very strong language with precise sexual references to criticize me as a person and not the political content of my speech."
Journalist: "After her appearance, Grillo took... named comments which led to accusation of chauvinism. Federica Salsi says she felt humiliated."
Federica Salsi: "I was mortified, he has shown himself to be a victim of the Berlusconi culture; he was very unpleasant, chauvinist like the others. He talked about about me not like a politician, but like a woman and he was very degrading."

F.A.Q. Something about me
When did you decide to join the five star movement? And what were your reasons to do so?
Era il 2008, e in Italia cadde l’ennesimo governo. Quella volta toccò a Prodi.
It was 2008, and in Italy another government fell yet. This time Prodi fell. I realized that the political class was not able to govern the country and it was necessary to engage in first person. The governament had miserably failed another time.

Italian comedian turned politician in row over his 'medieval sexism'
Beppe Grillo, the anti-politics hero who promised to clean up the system sparks storm over angry outburst

Five-Star Movement
activist and comedian Beppe Grillo has been accused of sexism following
his G-spot outburst. Photograph: Reuters
After a decade in which Italian politics was dominated by showgirls and sleaze, Beppe Grillo's brand of web-based democracy and anti-corruption campaigning has been taking Italy
by storm, and his movement became Sicily's biggest party in regional
elections last weekend and came second in nationwide polls.
But the tousle-haired comedian and blogger has now been dragged into a very familiar sounding Italian row after he was accused of being a "medieval" sexist and no different to politician Silvio Berlusconi.
